The Debruille Lab at Douglas Hospital is looking for pairs of participants (friends/siblings/spouses) to partake in an EEG study.
Eligibility:
Participants must…
- Speak fluent English
- Be 18 to 30 years of age
- Be right-handed
- Have known their friend/sibling/spouse for at least 3 years
- Have completed or be in the process of completing an undergraduate degree
- Not have a history of psychiatric disorders (i.e. schizophrenia or bipolar disorder) in self or in family
- Not take medication related to psychiatric disorders
- Not smoke marijuana more than once per week
- Not drink more than 12 drinks per week
- Not drink nor smoke the night before the experiment
- Not use injection drugs
- Not have dreads
- Not wear any headpiece that they cannot remove during the experiment
- Have perfect or corrected vision (if need be, use prescription glasses instead of contact lenses during the experiment)
Duration: ~ 3 hours
Location: Douglas Hospital (Frank B. Common Pavilion)
Experiment: EEG recording during memorization task on computer
Compensation per participant: $13 per hour + $6 to cover transportation fees
When arriving at the lab, a questionnaire will be administered to ensure that the participants truly know each other. If participants fail this section, the experiment will not take place and there will be no compensation.
